Go Forward

Going Forward shoould be a follow up of the things God has done in our lives and affairs.  Going forward can be taken to mean pressing on, to proceed, forge ahead, not stagnant, a change in previous actions so as to make progress.
Deut. 2:3…"Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward."

God does not want us to be stagnant. He desires that we make progress so that He can be glorified in our lives. As we go forward, He is set to step into that situation and bring about a notable and profitable change from status quo. This is part of the deal as you journey through your Christian journey. We are assured of this because the footprint of God is so big that when He steps in, everything else has to move towards a new direction indicative of progress – Isaiah. 43:18-19.

However, Going Forward, is a process and there are things to behold and things to forget.

Things To Behold include:

1) Behold His Strength……. God knew your strength before He made you a candidate for His Going Forward process. He was relying on His strength which is even made perfect in your weakness. If the foundation of Jesus did not escape the tests and afflictions of life, be sure yours too will be tested -Heb. 4:15. In going forward, remember God has chosen the weak things to confound the strong.

2) Behold His power….. Do this and any obstacles you may face in the going forward process will lose their power. God’s grace in operation in our lives will help us to say ” No” to the tempter. Reuben could not say No, he lost his divine placement.  Adam could not say No, he lost the paradise. Esau could not say No, he lost his birthright. However, Daniel said No, and progressed, manifesting the glory of God in the land of his captivity.

3) Behold His Mercy…. When you behold His mercies, you can trust in His unfailing faithfulness – Lamentations 3:22-23. His faithfulness can result in healing. Jesus healed Peter’s mother- in -law and she went forward to minister to Him.

4) Behold His Word…. God watches over His Word to perform it and neither is He slack concerning His promises – Is. 55:11. Lay a strong hold upon the word concerning that matter. Hang on to it and  go forward.

1) Past Victories is the first point to be considered as regards what we should forget. When we build our lives on our natural strength, gifts, accomplishments and  anointing of yesterday, we cut ourselves off from greater ones ahead. Some of us get swollen up with pride and forsake the mighty showers gathering in the heavens for us. Uzziah  died a leper because he looked back at his successes and felt good enough to take over the work of priests. 2 Chron. 26:16.

2) Past Failures….. Even if the devil tries to show you how your past was, tortures you with the pictures of how impossible your obstacles are, still step into your future and see your failures as not only past but passed away.

3) Negative Opinions of Man……… Adversity in our lives is not necessarily a sign of God not being pleased with us. Even if hatred, envy, sorrow, persecution, loneliness occur, know that a Bend in the Road, is not the end of the Road.”

4)  What men have done to you…. The season of Going Forward is the time to forget what friends and family members did to you. You may have been betrayed, deceived, jilted and abandoned. Trusting anyone much less expressing love is no longer possible for you – Gen. 45:5-15.  Get up from the dust of self-pity, clean up and go forward. Please let go and let God!!

1) Your testimony when you, in obedience Go Forward, will bring glory to God. Failure is a disappointment to God – Phil. 1:19 – 20

2) God has made sufficient provision for you, making it a part of His plan for your life. Jesus paid the price for us to have a fulfilled life. Remember it is God’s plan for you – Jer. 29:11

3) Several others’ destinies are tied to your own destiny. Everyone whose tomorrow is linked with your own, should have good reason to thank God for being connected to you as you go forward –Prov. 13:20

4) Fulfilled destinies bring recognition. Remember men do not name streets and monuments after failures – Rev. 21:14

5) It is a sign of your obedience to God and you are telling God that you place your trust in Him –Phil. 4:19
